GLOBAL SOCIO-POLITICAL WARFARE: Should Christians Get Involved?

Man In Creation and Redemption
Motifs to Establish Frameworks for Socio-Political Involvement
by John Jurado

There are two broad fundamentals that we need to understand before seeking ways to shape values in society. At times we feel the needs to confront a particular value, decision or priority adopted by the community. We want to make a difference, we want to be the "salt and light" of the world. We know that we need to get involved in our society, fellowmen and in our country.
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Mt 5:13-16

You Are Good                                                 Kay Buti Mo Amin

Your kindness leads me to repentance                              Kabaitan Mo’y naglilinis sa akin
Your goodness draws me to your side                              Ang Kabutihan Mo’y kalinga ko’t gabay
Your mercy calls me to be like You                                     Ang iyong Awa puso ko’y binago
Your favour is my delight                                                     Pagtulong Mo ay walang hanggan

We are                                                                               |                           TAYO ANG ILAW

Every secret, every shame                                                 |                           Sa bawat araw, ng ating buhay
Every fear, every pain                                                         |                           Tingin mo ba’y, walang saysay
Live inside the dark                                                             |                           Dilim ng landas mo’y
But that's not who we are                                                   |                           Di rin magtatagal
We are children of the day                                                 |                           May liwanag kang taglay.

(philippineshistory.org)
